Whether you’re an individual or an organization, true and lasting change starts from within.
At an organizational level, I’ve learned this through over a decade in Private Equity, analyzing hundreds of companies and investing through cycles. Then at Apple, leading global strategy for Mac and iPad, I saw what separates businesses that pivot and thrive from those that stagnate.
The lesson is clear: sustainable success comes from proactive clarity. They look beneath surface-level metrics to understand their true foundations: where vision meets execution, where values drive innovation, and where hidden barriers are transformed into catalysts for growth.
At an individual level, I’ve learned this lesson the hard way.
After years of relentless achievement—from Casablanca to Paris to New York—climbing the corporate ladder brought external success but internal misalignment. On the surface, I had everything I thought I wanted. But on the inside, I was breaking. A health crisis became the wake-up call that sparked a profound realization: lasting success starts from within.
When what worked stops working, external changes aren’t enough. True transformation begins by looking inward.
The Transformation: Rebuilding from the Inside Out
Moving to California marked the beginning of rebuilding—not just a career, but a whole new approach to success.
This transformation wasn’t easy, but it became the foundation for everything I do today. It inspired my TEDx talk at Stanford University, “What Your Body Knows and Mind Ignores”. As high achievers, we often overlook a powerful source of intelligence: our bodies. Physical sensations and emotional responses aren’t distractions, but valuable signals guiding us toward better decisions. When we learn to integrate both mind and body intelligence, we not only prevent burnout but stay connected to what truly matters, making choices that align with our deeper purpose and desires.
In California, I went back to school at Stanford Graduate School of Business, leading to a strategic pivot: from Private Equity to Tech, joining Apple to lead the global growth strategy and business planning for Mac and iPad.
These experiences birthed the Inside-Out Model®, helping leaders and organizations pivot with clarity, confidence, and conviction—whether navigating career transitions, scaling a business, or leading through uncertainty.
